Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
In April, we looked at building up heavenly treasure by ‘doing good,’ living in a way that pleases the Spirit. It might sound simple, but it isn’t. In fact, it’s impossible to do in our own power.
Even when we desire to follow the Spirit, there are countless things that will distract us or lure us astray. As Paul says in Romans 7:19, “For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do–this I keep on doing.”
Living in accordance with the Spirit requires constant awareness, constant prayer and constant surrender to the Lord’s will in your life. We all will fail, probably multiple times a day, and there will be times when we’re tempted to give up. But we are not alone. We have a God who sustains us and allows us grace to do His will.
