In 1 Kings 19 we find an interesting interchange between God and Elijah:
11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
If you read other passages, especially in Psalms, you will find that God’s voice also thunders with great power, but I think in our experience, we most often hear Him when we are focused, quiet and still.
But how often are you still these days? How often are you quiet and focused?
God’s voice can be hard to hear.
As we hurry through life with busy schedules and lots of distractions, we run the risk of missing His leading and direction.
From time to time we all need to get away, unplug, slow down, and listen to Him.
WCRC is a great place to do this. We have 300 peaceful, wooded acres with comfortable, distraction-free lodging and campgrounds where you can come away, slow down, and hear the “still small voice” of God.
You can plan your own retreat for yourself or your group.
You can come to one of our retreats. We have several to choose from. or
You can choose Kaleidoscope Camp for your kids, (they need a get-away too!)
WCRC is a place where people can begin a relationship with Jesus and grow in Him
It’s a place where you can hear God.
