Williamsburg Christian Retreat Center was started in 1984 to provide a place where young people can give their hearts and lives to Jesus. Our mission is to reach children and teens with the gospel and help them grow in their faith. Throughout the week counselors engage their campers on a spiritual level through cabin devotions, discussing how camp activities tie into spiritual principles and singing songs of praise together.
Each summer we see God working in the lives of campers at Kaleidoscope Camp. Our hope is that we can welcome every child who wishes to attend to come experience His grace here.
To do this we have a “Campership” scholarship fund from which we give scholarships to enable families in need to send their child to camp. In 2012 we were able to give out 40 scholarships totaling over $6,000. Scholarships are entirely funded by donations. In addition, the actual cost per camper is slightly higher than what we charge in order to keep it affordable to most families. This deficit is covered through donations as well.
Whether you have never been involved with camp before, have witnessed the joy the experience brings to the life of a child in need or have been the recipient of a scholarship in the past you can help make a difference. By participating in Bike-N-Walk, you donate just a couple hours of your time and the registration fee of $10 ($25 cap for families, or $5 for team members), but through the pledges you receive we hope to raise $10,000. Half of this will go straight to the scholarship fund and the other half will help us pay the bills so that we can continue to offer Kaleidoscope Camp and all our other retreats.
Want to participate but can’t make the event? Find a friend who is participating and make a financial pledge through them.
Please prayerfully consider how you can support Bike-N-Walk and share God’s truth with young people in need of His love!
