Refresh your spirit and fuel your creativity this spring at our much-loved quilting retreat! Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or curious to try your hand at this timeless craft, our Spring Quilting Retreat provides the perfect blend of creativity, faith, and fellowship.
Lodging and Amenities:
Relax in the comfort of our Oakwood Lodge or Holly Cottage, with lodging chosen by WCRC based on availability. You can request to room with friends or make new ones! Enjoy the convenience of large meeting rooms equipped with tables, chairs, irons, ironing boards, and cutting board stations. Don’t forget your sewing machine and plenty of fabric to bring your vision to life!
WCRC is located just 20 minutes northwest of Colonial Williamsburg, nestled in the peaceful countryside of Toano, VA. With its beautiful wooded surroundings and open fields, the center offers an ideal setting for reflection, rest, and fellowship.
Schedule Options:
- Mid-Week Quilters: Arrive Wednesday or Thursday to enjoy extra sewing time. Meals and lodging are provided from Wednesday lunch through Friday lunch.
- Weekend Quilters: Join us Friday evening and stay through Sunday breakfast. The retreat ends at 11 a.m. Sunday, but sewing spaces remain open until 4 p.m. for those who want to keep stitching (note: lunch is not served Sunday).
Directions from Williamsburg, VA:
- Take Interstate 64 to Exit 227.
- Head north on Route 30 for approximately 1 mile.
- Turn left onto Route 601 (Barnes Road).
- Continue 1 mile; the retreat center entrance will be on the right.

- Guidance from Lorraine Mooney: An award-winning quilter and retired art teacher, Lorraine brings her years of expertise, creativity, and love of faith to every retreat. She’ll be available in the sewing rooms to answer questions, teach small projects, and offer personalized advice.
- Fellowship: This retreat is a unique opportunity to connect with others who share your passion. Enjoy relaxed conversations, share quilting ideas, and bond over shared faith during activities like show-and-share sessions.
- Faith & Worship: Quilting can be more than a craft—it’s an act of worship. Through daily devotionals, you’ll explore how quilting can deepen your relationship with God and reflect His presence in your life.
Activities & Extras:
- Learn new techniques through a small project or two taught by Lorraine.
- Trade fabric and materials at the White Elephant Table.
- Be inspired by the creativity of others during show-and-share sessions.
Cost:
- Triple occupancy: $175 per person
- Double occupancy: $210 per person (limited availability)
- Single occupancy: $285 per person (very limited availability)
- RV and day quilting options available—contact us for pricing.
- Add extra quilting time: $100 per additional night (Wednesday or Thursday arrival).
