Our Guest Speaker

Leonard Dow
Leonard Dow is our speaker this year. Leonard is the lead pastor at Oxford Circle Mennonite Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is Bishop of the Philadelphia District of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference. Leonard is also Board Chair of Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association (OCCCDA), Board Chair of Kingdom Builders Anabaptist Network of Greater Philadelphia and Board Vice-Chair of Mennonite Central Committee U.S. Through these ministry avenues and many more, Leonard seeks to engage and nurture local and global communities in transformative work grounded in the reconciling love of Jesus Christ. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Rosalie, and children Carmela, Marcela, and Lorenzo.

Ordinary Men, Extraordinary God What does God require of us as “fathers, brothers, uncles, grandparents, mentors, friends, co-laborers, etc”? Often what we are taught, both formally and informally, is that we have to be either “Superman” or settle for a “Clark Kent” existence. If falling short as a “Superman” Christian has ever frustrated you or you are disappointed that you have had to settle for a “Clark Kent” existence – consider joining us for the weekend!

Through the use of scripture, stories, prayer, small group discussion, and interactive presentations we will (with the help of the Holy Spirit) learn, listen, laugh, lament and prayerfully embrace the reality that God has been and is still in the transformation work of calling, seeking, healing, equipping, and releasing - “Ordinary Men” – (like us) to participate in both the ordinary/everyday and the extraordinary of declaring that the Kingdom of God has come!
